Your report date is a window, not a single day. Count 90 days, then file inside the window. Miss it and the fee changes.

Who must report and when

A foreigner permitted to stay temporarily must notify an immigration officer of their address every 90 days. Section 37(5) applies when you stay longer than ninety days, and repeats every ninety days.

The window

You can file the 90-day report from 15 days before to 7 days after the due date. That window is the same online, by post and in person. By post, you can send it from 15 days before the appointment date. Past the window you must report in person and pay the compounded fine of THB 2,000.

Your first extension of stay counts as the 90-day report. A new passport also resets the routine: the next report is in person, then you can go online again for the one after.

If you leave and come back

If you leave before the next date and return, the next report falls after you stay over 90 days from your latest arrival. Keep the previous receipt of notification: the document list includes it.

Other visas

O-A holders notify every 90 days. LTR holders report once a year instead.

How to file

The E-Service menu has a 90-day report item. The public guide numbers the service as 12. The form is TM.47, on the office’s form page.

Online

The online channel is open 24 hours. Register once with your email address, entering your name and telephone number in English. The system emails you a password.

Log in, submit a new TM.47 application and file inside the window above. The officer’s decision comes to your email within 3 working days.

In person

You submit form TM.47 and an officer records the details. The officer issues a receipt for the next appointment date and returns your passport. The handbook gives a total of 4 minutes once the documents are complete.

By registered post

Send a certified copy of the passport bio data page, the latest arrival stamp and the visa page. Add an envelope with your return address and a THB 10 stamp for the receipt.

By an agent

You may authorise another person to report for you. A late report must be made in person.

Fees and fines

The handbook’s fee table for the notification shows N/A. A late 90-day report costs a THB 2,000 fine, paid in person. The Act currently sets a fine up to THB 5,000 plus up to THB 200 per day until you comply. The handbook amount can differ from the ceiling, because a settlement commission sets the compounding rules.

Isn’t immigration office in town the ONLY physical place? Walk up to the drive through is easy- but doing it online is even easier .

90 Day Report 1 month late. Can I pay the fine and do it in a different province? Basically, I confused June with July... Now it's a month late. At least, it will be a month by Monday. But I am in another province and won't be back to my registered province for another 2 weeks. Can I do it at immigration here (Phuket) instead of Chiang Mai? No plans to leave the county. And please correct me if I'm wrong, but it would be a max 2k baht fine?

You can do it in Phuket if you've got a TM30 on file for a Phuket address. Pay the fine when you file the 90 day report.
