Learn Thai in Phuket: Two Schools With Published Prices
Two Phuket language schools publish their Thai course price online. For a 1-year ED visa, Genius in Patong sells a 100-hour group package at THB 32,000, with visa fees extra. For one-to-one study, Chalong Language School in Chalong charges THB 6,000 for a 20-hour private course with a Thai teacher.
Two Phuket schools put a Thai course price on their own websites, and that makes them the easiest to budget for. Chalong Language School suits a short private course, while Genius fits group classes or a 1-year ED visa package.
The visa is what separates the two, so we recommend deciding on it first. The school prices in the tables are as each school lists them, checked 22 October 2026. Once you know, use the second table to match your goal to a school.

Chalong Language School teaches Thai to foreigners one to one: you get a private course with a Thai teacher, at THB 6,000 for 20 hours. The levels run from speaking through reading and writing, up to advanced courses. Students who enrol are offered the ED visa as well.

The school fits a learner who wants a private course bought by the 20-hour block, and anyone who wants reading and writing alongside speaking. Group learners should look elsewhere, since the listed Thai price is for a private class.
Address and contact
You find the school at 58/22 Moo 8, Chalong, Muang, Phuket 83130, and you can call +66 (0) 90-2456954 or +66 (0)76-384570. By its own account, the Ministry of Education Thailand approved the school in 2006; still, check its licence on the page below before you pay. If you live nearby, Living in Chalong covers the neighbourhood.
Genius covers group, private and duo Thai from its Patong school, and a second school runs at Robinson Chalong. Here is what each course costs:

On the ED package, the fee works out to THB 320 per hour across 100 hours of Thai. Keep money aside for the visa itself, since visa services, documents and all visa fees are not included in the package price. Course material, on the other hand, comes with the fee.
Plan your week around short, regular sessions: ED visa group classes run twice per week, 2 hours each, 4 hours weekly in total. Every 3 months you also go with the school to Phuket Immigration in Phuket Town.
This setup fits you if you want a Thai group course sold with a 1-year ED visa package, or private and duo lessons in 40-hour blocks. It suits less well when you need the visa fee inside the price, which it is not, or want more than 4 hours a week on the ED package.
Address and contact
The Patong school sits at 39/9 Phrabaramee Rd, Pa Tong, Kathu District, Phuket 83150. To get a feel for the area around it, read Living in Patong.
Three more schools that do not publish a Thai price
Three more schools cover the south and Patong, but none puts a Thai course price on its website. Phone or book a trial to get a quote. Treat the three below as places to ask, and compare any figure they give you with the two published prices above.
Beyond Language School in Rawai is the easiest to test, because it gives a free one-hour trial class. It teaches in private, group and online formats, and it can arrange a 1-year ED visa. For the south of the island, we recommend booking the trial before you commit to a package.
Alpha Language School in Chalong has helped international students since 2013. Its groups are capped at 7–8 students, and it works on a 120-hour level system. Its free lesson covers a level evaluation, an introduction to the curriculum and a study plan.
For the visa, Thai courses at Alpha qualify for Education Visa support for up to 3 years, subject to Thai Ministry and Immigration regulations. It puts the paperwork at typically 3–4 weeks and describes itself as a licensed provider, so run the licence check below anyway. Muay Thai trainees in Chalong will find it close to the camps.
Patong Language School has taught languages since 1983, which makes it the longest-running name on this page. Besides Thai, it teaches English, German and Japanese, so it suits a household where each person wants a different language.
Ask your school for its weekly timetable early, because the Thai embassy in Moscow sets minimum hours for Thai-language courses. A course of up to 5 months needs at least 4 days per week, 2 hours per day. A longer course runs at least 5 days per week, 5 hours per day. The same embassy asks for the school’s letter with a copy of the school licence.
Set aside money for the visa on top of the course fee, and expect the amount to depend on where you apply. The ED visa itself costs about 3000 Baht at the embassy you visit and is valid for 90 days. At the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow, a single entry is 80 USD, with a validity of 3 months or 1 year.
Through Genius, your application goes to the Phuket Department of Education and takes about 3 weeks. The passport must be valid for at least one year, with 5 blank pages.
Before you pay, look the school up on the private education commission’s licensed-school page. You search by school name or code with a filter by province, and the hotline is 1693. The full rules, documents and extension steps are in Thai Language School ED Visa in Phuket.
