Phuket is not just Patong. There are three districts (amphoe) and 17 subdistricts (tambon). What's a unique or interesting thing about your tambon? 💗 We live in Ko Kaeo - a subdistrict that's mostly known for housing British International School Phuket (BISP, with a very broad mascot of the Sea Eagles but I digress). Even though Ko Kaeo is the 2nd least populated tambon in Mueang, because of the location, it houses two marinas (Boat Lagoon and Royal Phuket Marina), making Ko Kaeo a yachting hub despite its size. There's also a lake - Lake Ko Kaeo - where there are free-roaming (we assume) cows and calves in and around the lake.

That’s where I live. In Cherngh Thalay and been here for a long time! Probably one of the nicest locations and we picked it by accident ages ago when we first moved here just because we liked the properties here. Good access to all facilities and at least until recently, without the hordes of tourists. I do come to Ko Kaeo, mostly for burgers to Pan Burger or to the cheese factory further up the road.

Good area to live for 32M Hi everyone, After living in Bangkok and in HuaHin, i'm considering relocating to Phuket. I'm not a party guy at all, enjoying nature and gym but i want to be able to meet folks with the same interest and educated girls. So a place a bit more youngish and vibrant than Hua Hin but not too much. What area would you recommend me. Plus, i heard that Phuket is quite expensive. How is it vs Hua Hin ? For example i pay 13K for a 32sqm 3km away to the beach.

Best Area to live on Phuket for a couple What is the best area to live in Phuket, on a \~฿80k/month rent budget? My girlfriend and I have been living in Bangkok (Thong Lor) for a year now. Our lease is ending soon and we're thinking we want to move to Phuket. We've stayed in Mai Khao, Bang Tao, Patong, Old Town, Karon, and Kata Beach before. Those places are a bit too touristy for us. We don't necessarily need to be super close to the beach and in the middle of the action, maybe at the foothills or something like that. Access to night markets would be cool.. something that feels more local. Any recommendations on which area?

We lived on the east coast at Ao Por literally 100 meters to the waterfront. There are no real beaches there as it's all silt and mangrove, but it's a lovely place to live and not at all touristy. The views are amazing, over Phangnga bay. Plenty of Thai restaurants and easy access to two marinas, which also have western food. There are some great small estates there, which are well run, which are also a lot cheaper than on the west coast.

I lived in central Phuket near a night market and it was good. West of Old Phuket town. Big mall in that area, a nice night market and lots of good local eateries and bars
lunacakes_phuket
I would suggest to check British International School area: lots of village parks with houses within your budget, not many tourists, a nice park area, a local market, and a couple of gyms. Located centrally, so there's easy access to Kathu, Central Festival, old Phuket town.

Patong or Kata??? Hey! My boyfriend and I will be spending a couple days in Phuket. We are in our late 20s and need some advice on where to stay. We favour a slightly quieter beach than Patong, like Kata or Karon Beach, but we do want to check out Patong at night to take in the atmosphere. We are not going to party, but we do like having a drink and people watching. Is is safe to stay in Kata/Karon and travel to and fromg Patong at night? Or would it be better to stay in Patong and venture to the other beaches? THANKS IN ADVANCE :)
